The pain of dealing with a chronic or life-threatening illness doesn’t end with the physical. The mental toll taken on patients and their families can be overwhelming. Thankfully Andrew P. Daigle M.D. and his team of palliative physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, social workers and chaplains at Community Palliative Consultants can help.
Dr. Daigle and his team begin the process of alleviating physical pain, pain brought on by psychosocial and spiritual distress, by facilitating an intensive discussion with patients and their families. The goal is to help patients become as comfortable as possible and give them the tools to make important decisions about their care.
Dr. Daigle has practiced medicine throughout the Southeast in a variety of roles, including palliative, emergency and family medicine. Before joining Community Palliative Consultants in 2011, he was medical director of hospice and medical director of palliative medicine for Bon Secours Richmond Health System in Richmond, Va.
Community Palliative Consultants, established by Community Hospice in 2010, currently provides consultations at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, UF Health Jacksonville, St. Vincent’s HealthCare Riverside and Southside campuses and St. Catherine Labouré Manor in Riverside, with future expansion planned.
