The American Cancer Society’s 19th annual Cowford Ball was held at the fairgrounds April 5, 2014. With a “Saltwater Cowboy” theme, attendees enjoyed live music, casino games, delicious food and drinks, a silent auction, and even March Madness on the big screen. The festive event benefitted cancer education and research, as well as local patient services.

The Downtown Marketing Collaborative presented Intuition Ale Work’s newest brew, Smoke IPA, on the rooftop of the Museum of Science and History (MOSH) February 20th. The IPA was created in honor of Downtown’s marketing campaign, Downtown is on Fire, and is only available at downtown bars.
Interlopers: Works by Aaron R Brown & Jennie Cotterill opened February 21st at CoRK Arts District on King Street in Riverside. The quirky works by the couple, who are based in California, were created as part of the Artists in Residence program at CoRK. Brown and Cotterill spent two weeks in Jacksonville preparing for the show.
