Dozens of local restaurants, beverage distributors and caterers will come together on June 5 for the 24th annual Jacksonville FOODFIGHT, which provides attendees with the opportunity to sample specialty dishes and signature cocktails while raising funds to benefit the Nourishment Network.
Nourishment Network CEO Wayne Rieley said the FOODFIGHT is an annual signature event that typically raises more than $80,000 to support the North Florida food bank’s efforts to solve hunger in the community.
“For every dollar the Nourishment Network receives, we can generate seven meals,” Rieley said. “That means every individual ticket purchased for the FOODFIGHT will generate more than 400 meals for food-insecure families struggling to make ends meet.”
More than 1,000 guests are expected to attend the event. Since 1989, the Jacksonville FOODFIGHT has raised more than $1 million in the fight against hunger. In addition to food and drinks, the event will also include live entertainment.
