Innovation & Cost Effectiveness Meets Compassion

At First Coast Cardiovascular Institute (FCCI), the pursuit of excellence is an ongoing commitment – a goal the physicians and staff strive to reach every day. or over a decade, FCCI has touched over 100,000 lives and performed thousands of lifesaving procedures since its inception The Institute’s mission is to provide hope, even to those who have been told there is none. This physician-led practice prides itself in excellence in patient-centered care.

FCCI has retained the same commitment to cutting edge technology it was founded on. The past year has also been a time to develop initiatives that work to reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients.

“We’re still the same First Coast Cardiovascular Institute,” explains Yazan Khatib, MD, President of FCCI and interventional cardiologist, “but we’ve made some changes to better serve the community and our patients.” We now offer more of our accredited cardiovascular testing at our Beaches, Mandarin and Northside offices. “In the past, patients had to come to the main University office for testing, and now we are taking the testing to them and eliminating the drive,” says Dr. Khatib, “thus reducing costs for patients and improving quality of care.”
FCCI believes the secret to success in patient care is taking the time to ensure the patients understand their condition, in addition to collaboration amongst a team of mission driven individuals focused on avoiding fragmentation of care. With compassion and grace the Institute brings accredited services and board certified physicians to serve patients in Duval, Clay, St. Johns and Baker counties.
