There is a yearning in the air for the folk of Jacksonville to get out and enjoy the local talent, artisan expertise and creative community that is currently blooming around town. I can feel it. Can you? There is so much positive growth currently bursting from the streets, and from what I can tell, people are loving it. That’s why there is an almost palpable surge of excitement floating around and aimed directly towards one of the latest curated events to frequent downtown. Jaxson’s Night Market.
Every third Thursday downtown, a range of local produce, artisan foods, clothing and craft stalls, plenty of food trucks and a beer garden fill up the corner of Laura and Adams st. Situated directly below the Carling and the Barnett Building and surrounded by twinkling hanging lights, a welcoming evening atmosphere invites you to stroll, taste and enjoy the myriad of local talent-packed goods on offer throughout the market.
With sponsorship from Black Hog Farms, Burrito Gallery and Intuition Ale Works and over 20 vendors every month, this market has what it takes to draw a crowd and continue thriving as a prominent and positive monthly Jacksonville event.
If you haven’t been already, then I urge you to get on the excitement bandwagon and go. Stroll the market streets, pick up some produce for the week and enjoy an outdoor picnic dinner from one of the food trucks. It is a fun evening out and is also a wonderful sight to see Downtown Jacksonville blooming with creative local drive. It’s also a joy to know that by going along, you will be supporting the independent and local businesses of this town and events like this market that successfully bring the best parts of Jacksonville together.
Jaxson’s night market runs every third Thursday, downtown on the corner of Laura and Adams Street from 5 – 9.30p, rain or shine.
