After months of anticipation and $63 million worth of renovations to the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, owner Shad Khan officially unveiled the world’s largest video boards and pools at EverBank Field Saturday night. The big reveal was sandwiched between two events that weren’t quite as highly anticipated. No disrespect to country music star Carrie Underwood or the Fulham FC and D.C United soccer teams, but it’s tough to compete with over 42,000 square-feet of crystal-clear, HD awesomeness.
After a brief introduction, a group that included Khan, Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley and Mayor Alvin Brown, counted down to the video presentation that filled each screen with a more than six-minute long video that included all the things we love about Jacksonville. Those in attendance likely went home, stared at their TV and screamed, “Why can’t you be more like those screens at EverBank!” Even if the Jaguars don’t win a single game, at least they won the superlative for “Scoreboard Most Likely to be Seen From Space.”
You can read more about the event and lots more about the Jaguars and EverBank Field in the Ultimate Guide to the Jacksonville Jaguars coming from Jacksonville Magazine this season.
