Sina Kasraeian, MD, an alumnus of The Bolles School and the University of Florida, completed his medical training at the University of Southern California (USC), where he was President of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national honor society recognizing top medical students.
During his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at USC, he served at USC/Los Angeles County Medical Center–one of the top trauma centers in the country–where he gained extensive experience in fracture management and developed a special interest in upper extremity reconstruction. During his Sport Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship at the prestigious Southern California Orthopedic Institute, he trained among pioneers of shoulder, hip, knee and foot & ankle arthroscopy. He is one of the few specialists in the area who performs foot & ankle arthroscopy.
Among other associations, he is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. He volunteers several times a year to teach shoulder, knee and foot & ankle arthroscopy to other orthopaedic surgeons at the AANA Learning Center in Chicago. His research has been presented and recognized at multiple national and international meetings, including the Western Orthopaedic Association’s Vernon Thompson Award for outstanding research.
Among other affiliations, he is one of the team physicians for the United States Ski and Snowboard Association and the United States Beach Volleyball/Association of Volleyball Professionals.
